The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Salt Lake Field Office implemented a prescribed burn at the SageSTEP Onaqui sagebrush/cheatgrass site in September 2006. The fire was restricted to the 75-acre core plot and is estimated to have blackened between 60 and 70% of the plot. The herbaceous layer burned completely, and fire crews went back through the plot to burn a few small islands of shrubs. For more information about this burn, contact Jeff Burnham.
