NRCS Utah Guidance for Complying with Federal, State, and Local Laws and Regulations

Intended as a reference for NRCS employees, this website provides access to various federal, state, and local laws and regulations relevant to conservation activities. The document is organized in sections by agency (US Forest Service, Army Corps of Engineers, Fish and Wildlife Service, etc.) with a brief description of the regulatory powers of the agency and links to agency websites.

Utah Administrative Code Rule R652-120 Wildland Fire
This webpage for the Utah State Code for Wildland Fire provides information for the issuance of burning permits, the establishment of limited suppression areas, conduct of prescribed burns, and management for cultural resources and threatened and endangered species in the state of Utah.

Utah BLM Fire
This page provides general information on wildland fire in the state of Utah as well as providing links to information on Utah Fire Management Plans, Fire Prevention, and more.

Utah Division of Forestry, Fire and State Lands
The Fire Management page provides links to the most recent Statewide Operating Plan, which details the agreement to interagency cooperation in statewide fire management, and the Fire Warden’s Field Manual, which contains Utah laws, codes, rules, and management policies related to fire. Information on the Wildland Urban Interface, the Wildland Fire Suppression Fund, and Fire Grants can also be linked to from this page’s menu.   

Herbicides/ Pesticides

Utah Department of Agriculture and Food (UDAF) State and Federal Pesticide Programs
UDAF administers the Utah Pesticide Control Act, which regulates the registration and use of pesticides in Utah, and is also the lead state agency for pesticide use enforcement under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).  This website includes links to general information on pesticide application, regulation, and recordkeeping as well as links to Utah code and administrative rules relating to pesticides.


Utah BLM Grazing
Here the BLM provides links to information on grazing management in Utah, grazing districts, grazing permits, and rangeland health.
